Bond Multitool
The Leatherman Bond is the heritage multi-tool — inspired directly by Tim Leatherman's original Pocket Survival Tool, the concept that started the whole category. Contoured handles, 420HC stainless steel frame, 14 tools, and a classic butterfly-open design at 6.21oz. It does not have a locking blade or locking implements; this is a deliberate nod to the original tool's design rather than an oversight. Backed by Leatherman's 25-year warranty. Sheath sold separately.
- Inspired by the original Pocket Survival Tool — Tim Leatherman's first multi-tool concept, developed in 1975 and refined over years of prototyping, established the butterfly-open plier-based multi-tool format. The Bond carries that original design philosophy into the current range.
- 420HC stainless steel frame and blade — 420HC is the standard Leatherman blade steel, used across the Wingman, Sidekick, and Rebar. It provides a reliable working edge with good corrosion resistance, suited to everyday tasks.
- Contoured handles — shaped for grip comfort across the tool set, with the pliers as the primary tool.
- 14 tools — covering everyday plier, cutting, and fastening tasks. Full tool list in specifications below.
- No blade lock or implement locking — neither the blade nor any other tool on the Bond locks in the open position. All implements are spring-tensioned. This is an intentional design characteristic of this model; if locking tools are required for your use, the Rebar, Wingman, or any other Leatherman in the range with confirmed blade lock would be the appropriate choice.
- Removable pocket clip — attaches for pocket or belt carry, removes cleanly if not needed.
- 25-year warranty — made in Portland, Oregon. Full warranty details here.
